Alabama Department of Archives & History Military Records
This subject file contains various records which document the participation of Alabamians in various wars. The information was compiled by ADAH staff. Included is information on the Revolutionary War; the War of 1812 and the Creek War of 1814-15; the Second Creek War; the Texas War of Independence; the Mexican War; the Spanish-American War; World War I; World War II; the Korean War; and the Vietnam War. Included are clippings, compiled information about people and events, brochures, reference correspondence, photocopies and transcripts of original documents and various printed materials. Compiled information on the Civil War is found in a separate file, Public Information Subject Files - Civil War and Reconstruction.

From Colony to Country: A Reader's Guide to Canadian Military History
From Colony to Country: A Reader's Guide to Canadian Military History has been re-organized, with a new design. In addition to the military campaigns already listed on the site, From Colony to Country offers two new themes, the Rebellions of 1837 and 1838 and the Second World War, as well as material pertaining to Aboriginal Soldiers in the First World War.
Combined Arms Research Library Collections
These electronic collections are largely composed of digital versions of paper documents from the Combined Arms Research Library collections. The collections of digitized materials are uploaded in the ContentDm® Digital Collection Management System which allows for greater search and retrieval of the individual documents. For example, you can find CGSC mmas theses and SAMS monographs here from 1990-2007.
Native American/American Indian Records at the National Archives
The National Archives holds information about Native Americans/American Indians who maintained their ties to Federally-recognized Tribes (1830-1970). Most records are arranged by tribe.

Includes PA National Guard Veterans' Card File, 1867-1921; Civial War Veterans' Card File, 1861-1866; Mexican Border Campaign Veterans' Card File; World War I Service Medal Application Cards; Spanish American War Veterans' Card File of United States Volunteers; Revolutionary War Military Abstract Card File; and Militia Officers Index Cards, 1775-1800. All archives are keyword searchable.
World War I Document Archive This archive of primary documents from World War One has been assembled by volunteers of the World War I Military History List (WWI-L). International in focus, the archive intends to present in one location primary documents concerning the Great War.

ILO Convention 169 Comes into Force
On This Day: In 1991 the Indigenous and Tribal Peoples Convention, 1989 came into force. It is an International Labour Organization Convention, also known as ILO Convention 169, or C169. It is the major binding international convention concerning indigenous peoples, and a forerunner of the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Only 21 countries have ratified the Convention, while the United States, Canada, Australia, Russia, and many other countries have failed to adopt its binding guidelines.
