Translated from Spanish, Original Below

Children of the Mapuche made a statement in condemnation of the repression that took place on 16 October that killed seven children injured by pellet impacts.

The attack happened in the raid that police made a school located in the Temucuicui community.

Children require the United Nations Fund for Children UNICEF demonstrate against the outrage and respecting the Universal Declaration on the Rights of the Child. Statement

Through this statement Mapuche children, we express our concern and condemnation, to the events raised in Temuco on 16 October this year, where seven children were injured by Mapuche impact of shot after a police raid on a school located Temucuicui the community.

We believe that Mapuche children, we are also children, and therefore our rights must be respected. Estosson universally recognized by Declaration on the Rights of the Child, adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations on 20 November 1959 in one of its principles states:

The child must be protected from practices which may foster racial, religious or other reasons. Must be educated in a spirit of understanding, tolerance, friendship among peoples, peace and universal brotherhood, and in full awareness that he must devote his energy and talents to serve their fellowmen.

Upholding these principles ask UNICEF:

1.- Why in the Mapuche communities are not respecting the rights of children?

2.- Why no instance protects, or manifests against violence being suffered by the Mapuche children, specifically in the Temucuicui community?

3.- Why is shooting Mapuche children, violating a basic fundamental right, which is the RIGHT TO LIFE?

4.- Why is acting in a discriminatory manner against Mapuche children?

As children we deeply regret that Mapuche children, are attacked without mercy. Mapuche children are also entitled to live in a harmonious environment where safeguard your physical and psychological integrity.

We urge UNICEF, which is the United Nations Fund for Children, which aims to promote the protection of the Rights of Children, who publicly through a public statement of rejection and condemnation against this type of abuses, it also makes a mass of information so that its 155 member countries are witnessing the injustices that Mapuche children live.

As children Mapuche interests us greatly that the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION ON THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD, more than words, and that is enforced in full and practice these principles. Right to life, equality, tolerance, non discrimination and brotherhood among peoples.

We demand a prompt and urgent delivery of part of your body, to manifest to these very serious events occurring in Mapuche communities, and also make a clarion call to the institutions with which they work; government, civil society, churches, international institutions, world-renowned personalities and millions of volunteers who are responsible for protecting children's rights. Ask yourself UNICEF to be present in comunidadades.

Out of respect for the rights of Mapuche children.

No more raids, or shot Mapuche children.

The Battle of Four Lakes

On This Day: In 1858 over 500 Coeur d'Alene people fought Colonel George H. Wright and 600 soldiers at the Battle of Four Lakes near present-day Spokane, Washington. Wright attacked and drove off the Indians inflicting heavy losses while reportedly not losing a single soldier due to the long range (500+ yards) of the new Springfield Model 1855 Rifle-Musket vs. the short range (50-100 yards) of the Indian's smoothbores. Over 60 Coeur d'Alene warriors lost their life protecting their people and land.
